BadgerBlitz.com's Wisconsin player draft: Round 19

This summer, the Badgers will be divided.

That is, they'll be separated into three imaginary teams, set against each other by a BadgerBlitz.com.com Wisconsin player draft, a daily selection in which separate groups of 23 are assembled.

Over the next four weeks, BadgerBlitz.com reporters Jon McNamara, John Veldhuis and Jessi Schoville will draft Badgers, picking players one-by-one and placing them on their respective teams, trying to assemble the best 11 on offense and defense, plus one reserve.

Then, in late July, we'll decide — based on BadgerBlitz.com.com staff and member feedback — which team would win.

Who will be selected when? How will the teams develop? What reasoning will be used?

And most importantly, do you agree with the picks? Be sure to discuss in the Badgers' Den.

Pick No. 55: TE David Edwards (McNamara)

David Edwards (Rivals.com)

At 6-foot-7 and 254 pounds, I love what David Edwards brings to his position. However, with his role likely being an in-line tight end as opposed to an H-back, Edwards needs to continue to add the necessary strength in order to go against Big Ten defensive linemen.

That said, the former high school quarterback is a very good athlete and could see some reps in the pass game this season. He'll be behind Troy Fumagalli, Kyle Penniston and Eric Steffes, but we know how much Paul Chyrst loves to use his tight ends.

Pick No. 56: NG Gunnar Roberage (Schoville)

Gunnar Roberge (uwbadgers.com)

With one more spot to fill on the defense I decided to just complete that side of the ball and use the last four picks to finish up the offense. With the nose guard position the only spot left vacant, I decided to go with a Gunnar Roberge.

Roberage is still a little slim for the center of the line at 6-foot-4 and weighing 300 pounds, but his attitude and his redshirt season last year has allowed him to make some improvements over the course of the offseason. He embraced the roll of being a walk-on last season and has been steadily improving on a day-to-day basis.

Pick No. 57: FB Austin Ramesh (Veldhuis)

Austin Ramesh (Dan Sanger)

I needed one more piece to fill out my running game, so I took Austin Ramesh to fill my fullback spot and complete my offense as a whole. Alec Ingold was already off the board, but I felt pretty good about getting Ramesh - he has some experience and has been a serviceable option at the position when he's on the field.

Overall, I think my offense rounded out pretty well. I definitely sacrificed some experienced defensive players to fill things out, but I think this team's offense could effectively control the tempo of the game and the time of possession. As long as my defense doesn't give up scores too quickly, I'd feel good about my team's chances to win games.
