BadgerBlitz.com's Wisconsin player draft: Round 11
This summer, the Badgers will be divided.
That is, they'll be separated into three imaginary teams, set against each other by a BadgerBlitz.com.com Wisconsin player draft, a daily selection in which separate groups of 23 are assembled.
Over the next four weeks, BadgerBlitz.com reporters Jon McNamara, John Veldhuis and Jessi Schoville will draft Badgers, picking players one-by-one and placing them on their respective teams, trying to assemble the best 11 on offense and defense, plus one reserve.
Then, in late July, we'll decide — based on BadgerBlitz.com.com staff and member feedback — which team would win.
Who will be selected when? How will the teams develop? What reasoning will be used?
And most importantly, do you agree with the picks? Be sure to discuss in the Badgers' Den.
Ready for Round 11?
Pick No. 31: WR George Rushing (McNamara)
With George Rushing's two touchdown receptions of 46 and 43 yards during the spring game still fresh in my head, I snagged the junior to round out my wide receiver position. With Rushing and Jazz Peavy, I believe I'll have two of the two three receivers on the roster - the third being Team Schoville's Rob Wheelwright.
This fall will be huge for Rushing, who came to Wisconsin with high expectations out of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Florida. After earning his first letter as a true freshman - five catches for 62 yards and four carries for 17 rushing yards - Rushing had just one catch in 2015.
"He finished the spring on a higher note, and I think that's got a chance to give him confidence going into summer," head coach Paul Chryst said of Rushing this spring. "He took advantage of the opportunities, and that's what happens when you practice and you stay healthy, and he's worked."

Pick No. 32: S Arrington Farrar (Schoville)
With my defense nearing completion, I wanted to put the last few pieces in place on that side of the ball. Particularly, since most of the offensive talent had been pretty picked over at this point, I decided to grab sophomore safety Arrington Farrar.
The safety position is up for grabs this season with the departure of Tanner McEvoy and Michael Caputo, and there are a few guys who could step up and try to to fill those shoes this year. My personal favorite for that role is Farrar.
Junior safety D’Cota Dixon is probably most peoples' preference heading into the season, but I think these two are much closer than most think. Farrar (6-foot-2, 208 pounds) has a four-inch height advantage over Dixon and has a higher playing ceiling - physically and athletically speaking - than Dixon, in my opinion. Dixon does have a year of experience on Farrar, but the difference between a freshman and a sophomore tends to be greater than the difference between a sophomore and a junior, so I think that gap will begin to close this season.
The former four-star prospect was a dominant player in Georgia high school football and once he finds the comfort and confidence at this next level, I expect Farrar to be a big playmaker for Wisconsin.

Pick No. 33: OT Cole Van Lanen (Veldhuis)
After going with defensive players in back-to-back picks, I decided to round out my offensive line with another incoming player who should be 'redshirt ready' this year. Someone who doesn't need to see the field in Year 1, but I'd be perfectly comfortable throwing him out there in this alternate universe.
I took Cole Van Lanen to hold down my right tackle spot because I think he's relatively polished for an incoming high school offensive lineman, and he's a good fit as the final piece of what I think is the best offensive line out of our three teams. With Van Lanen on board I solidified that front five, giving Corey Clement plenty of room to run, and now I can focus on rounding out my defense and adding a playmaker or two on offense while Jon and Jessi try to fill up their remaining spots.
Going O-line heavy wasn't what I planned on at the start of the draft, but you have to be able to roll with the punches.
