Cornerback Caesar Williams is No. 25 for Wisconsin

Commit No. 25 -- possibly the final piece in Wisconsin's 2016 recruiting class -- is now in the books for head coach Paul Chryst.

Tuesday evening, Caesar Williams, a two-star cornerback, announced his pledge to the Badgers. The 6-foot, 171-pound senior from Grand Prairie (TX) South Grand Prairie ultimately chose UW over Kansas State, but also had offers from SMU, Indiana, Houston and Illinois, among others.

"Both Kansas State and Wisconsin were great football programs and I couldn't go wrong with that decision, but Wisconsin just made me feel something special," Williams told BadgerBlitz.com. "It just felt more at home than with Kansas State.

"I called the coaches to commit and they were all in the car at the same time. They were all pumped up and real excited to hear it together at once. It relieves a lot stress right now and I can just focus on school my future at Wisconsin."

Wide receivers coach Ted Gilmore played a big role in landing Williams, who took his official visit to Madison earlier this month.

"He (Gilmore) was a big reason I committed and we connected real well," Williams said. "He got along with my family really well and that was important. Things happened quickly with Wisconsin but I was able to trust coach Gilmore right away."

Williams joins a cornerback class for Wisconsin that also includes Ke'Shan Pennamon and Dontye Carriere-Williams.

"They told me I'm the last cornerback for them in this class," Williams said. "They said I'll have a chance to play early and I'm ready to get to work."
