Big Ten preseason honors list includes RB Corey Clement

CHICAGO - Senior running back Corey Clement, already on the 2016 Maxwell Award and Doak Walker Award watch lists, was among 10 Big Ten Conference players to earn preseason recognition Monday.

A Big Ten preseason honoree for the second-consecutive season, Clement is trying to bounce back from a difficult junior season in which he rushed for just 221 yards and five touchdowns on 48 carries. Due to injury, the 5-foot-11, 227-pound tailback only played in four games.

Clement, who rushed for 949 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore, joins Iowa senior quarterback C.J. Beathard and senior defensive back Desmond King and Northwestern junior running back Justin Jackson and junior linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. as the featured players from the West Division.
